WELL ATTENDED ANNUAL MEETING
About thirty people participated in Långå FVOF's annual meeting on 30 mars. The board was re-elected as soon as Kjell Thuvall left his post at his own request when he moved from the town and Alf Johansson left as a long-time valued accountant. Margareta Selin was appointed as Kjell's successor, who on the board will be responsible for, among other things, Långåfisket's cultural investment. As a replacement for Alf, Eva Åslund was appointed in Bygget.
Viktor Olsson has been appointed deputy. Otherwise, the others were re-elected, including the selection committee which is Reidun Överby-Sundin and Göran Andersson.
Initially, as a thank you, Långåfisket's diploma was handed over to the manager at Fortum Generation AB, Hans Rohlin, who will retire in the spring. Hans Rohlin has for several years given significant and valuable support to the Groundwater Project, but also on his own initiative supported various projects for Långåfisket and also assisted through practical cooperation and resources that facilitated the association's activities.
The meeting approved the administration under 2016 and granted the board discharge from liability. The sale of fishing licenses increased in all categories last year and reached over half a million kroner for the first time in the association's history. The budget for 2017 was approved. It contains measures and projects for fishery care and service on a total of approx 400 000 SEK. The surplus from the financial year is reinvested in the business and no distribution is made to the owners, but the money goes back to those who fish in the form of fishery care and service.
Sales via agents must be maintained as before. It is a much appreciated service where visiting fishermen also receive personal tips and advice that are valued. In addition, it is both a habit and a happy reunion for many that they reconnect with the contact that often developed over several years.
Card vending machine at the entrance to long are not able to accept the new coins and must be closed.
The closure takes place during the month of May. It will be too costly to replace it with a new machine and as its role has diminished in recent years with more alternative payment methods it can be considered to have served its role.
The meeting also approved the board's decision that those who have a fishing license are allowed to prevent damage and violations of the rules by pointing out to those who use unauthorized fishing methods, litter or scribble it is forbidden!
