Councilor Anders Häggkvist and municipal fisheries officer, Janne Gabrielsson, visit the Långå 30 October for a meeting with the board for long Fiskevårdsområde.
– We place great value on this visit, says Helge Jonsson, Chair in long FVOF. We have good cooperation with the municipality and we are both partners in the Grundsjö project together with the County Administrative Board in Jämtland County and Fortum Generation AB.
On the agenda are investments in fisheries conservation and biotope measures in Långå-Ljusnan, as well as investments in Långåfisket's need for a supply of hatchery fish, including Grundsjörödingen, which is a comprehensive investment to save the unique char strain in Grundsjön.
– In addition, we will report on our activities and the results we achieve, our future plans and common points of contact regarding biotope conservation, fishery conservation and development of sport fishing in Härjedalen as a resource. We have many years of experience in good cooperation with Härjedalen municipality, says Helge Jonsson.
A new example is that the municipality has taken care of 1 tonnes of whitefish from reduction fishing in Grundsjön. Siken is used in school canteens and homes for the elderly within the municipality, says Helge. It is an example of wise policy in both economic, cultural and environmental considerations, he believes.
