Långå Fish conservation area Association has held its annual meeting with about twenty people, of which almost half were women. turnover in 2018 amounted to 1 409 786 SEK, thereof will 326 664 million from the sale of fishing licenses. There is a reduction of approximately 75 000 kronor the year before. The explanation is that last summer was hot and dry, which led to fewer fishing. It is a welcome sign of respect for the fish that were pressures that last year, said Helge Jonsson, Chairman of the Board. Other comparable fishing associations have the same experience of falling sales.
Last year's activities led to an improvement of close 300 000 SEK, which is due to several large investments in fisheries management and service were completed during the year and it became black figures in the financial statements by a narrow margin of a few hundred dollars. The largest investment was made in Långåljusnan where about a third of the route is repaired after the damage caused by fleet headed clearance and the influence of power extensions. The state invested, by the provincial government in Jämtland, half a million of the appropriation for fish conservation measures in addition to other involvement with expertise and project management. The project cost for 2018 finished in just over 700 000 SEK.
Grundsjöprojektet devoted to saving Grundsjörödingen cost half a million. Fortum Sweden AB is the largest financier covering almost half of the costs. Other provincial government, Härjedalen and long FVOF and Särvsjöns bysamfällighetsförening. Regarding Grundsjöprojektet noted the continued impact of the method developed by Arne Holt Seeland which means that the charging of whitefish in Grundsjön halved for two consecutive years to suggest a radical increase in the char's living space. In addition, the weight of char, trout and perch increased significantly. Implemented reduce fishing for whitefish in Upper Särvsjön gave similar results, which is very important because it is from there that the whitefish migrated through the power tunnel to Grundsjön.
The Board has reviewed the fishing license prices and introduced a discussion paper that proposes an adjustment of the prices of fishing licenses and that it will be possible to buy fishing permits for family members at a low cost. Prices for 2020 will be decided by the autumn meeting in October. Prices have remained unchanged since 2013.
The value of a fishing license in Långåfisket is three to four times as high as the fee due to that the owners do not take out any profits, but everything is reinvested in fish conservation measures, and service to the fisherman. Another explanation is that the investments supported by voluntary unpaid work, as well as of Fortum Sweden AB, public funds and sponsors.
In a motion to the General Meeting the Board was required to say why the municipality did not bygdemedel priority to projects Långåljusnan which is one of the largest projects in Sweden to recreate habitats for fish and aquatic organisms while increasing the attraction of Långåfisket.
Helgi Jonsson replied to the motion of the Board's behalf and explained that the municipality does not provide any justification, despite reminders, and therefore, the Board can not explain the municipality's attitude. In line with the motion instructed the meeting for the board - "the behalf of the owners' - request explanations from the municipal government and what that will apply to future. The Board will contact the municipality as soon as the annual meeting of the protocol is adjusted.
The meeting was unanimous to continue to focus on the current routes in Långåljusnan, an operation that began 2015. For future work, the Board was the approval of the General Meeting to use 260 000 crowns of reserve funds. It covers almost one-fifth of the need.
At the meeting also presented proposals for environmental policy for long FVOF. It contains instructions and advice on how business can be conducted and which are also given advice to visiting fishermen how they can mitigate the impact on nature and the environment. Carpool and local purchasing included there as profitable tips on how to reduce their environmental impact.
The Board re-elected and Elin Eriksson replaces Kent Johansson as the deputy auditor.
