Happy New Year!

The fish year 2023 is over and it is time to summarize before the continuation of the new! Långåfisket has 'delivered' as many fishermen tell us after a fishing trip. Even those who have not been 'lucky' can agree with that. The experience outweighs the catch

It is conservation, care and use of a natural resource worthy of protection which is the explanation for the estimate. We can be grateful for and proud of the original noble fish found here! Plus the fact that there are so many who put in the work! Under 2023 around fifty people have been voluntarily involved, in one way or another, in Långåfisket! A big thank you and praise to you!

Our priority 'number 1' is the fish! We will never change that. The idea is not new. This is how we have been doing it for more than three hundred years. And we know that we get consent and support for that attitude. Are there fish, then there are fishermen! A very big thank you to you and welcome back anytime during 2024.

On New Year's Eve, I resign my 'office' as Gilles Master in Dunkrokens Gille, the time-honoured association which has its origins in the Fly Fishers' Club of London. As a thank you, Gillet has handed over a monetary gift to Långåfisket's cultural preservation program with the desire to continue having Långå as the location for its annual meeting and a few days of fishing the weekend before midsummer every year! Thank you and welcome again!

The new year, 2024, have we already filled with wishes and expectations. With hopes for a better world with freedom and peace for all. Especially everywhere! See you at the river's edge!

Happy New Year!
