Fishing summer 2021! What will we remember of it, other than easing pandemic restrictions, that we continued to see Sweden as an excursion destination for everyone, not least for anglers and that the summer was hot but not as awful as the hot summer 2018. Plus everything else possible, worth remembering, worth longing for, until next summer! And of course, most important of all - the fishing trips with all its experiences!
Longline fishing can take note of the summer 2021 as a strong experience, shared with satisfaction not only by us on the board, management functions and all participants but also by new visitors and a huge number of return visitors. The number of fishing days and fishing opportunities is back to previous levels, stable to their content through the quality that many experience and like. More and more people return because they appreciate the "whole", not just the fishing itself but equally all the experiences around it. If I get a fish, I'm more than happy with that bonus, as one said.
The highlight for us in the fisheries conservation association is that the restored currents in Långåljusnan have been restored to 'close to nature' conditions., admittedly with regulated water flow but with bends, hooks, rapids, deep holes, play areas for fish and insects, all revived with increased oxygen content and greater water volume. The living environment is number one. If there are fish, there are fishermen, we usually say, and this summer, the current sections have been reopened for fly fishing. The trout is protected all year round, hullinglöst, catch&release! We are glad that the spark of life has returned to the bottom, The regrowth is promising with several positive signs and the beauty has returned to this artery. We have received many praiseworthy words for this, appreciation after expert review and shared joy with those who see a promising future!
"Långåljusnan was created in the beginning of time and was completed by Långå Fiskevårdsförening in 2020", I claim! Side by side with all future anglers, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the result for six years! Per-Ola Persson, Långåfiskets quality manager, has waded miles and directed boulders, pebbles, gravel and sand for their new tasks that shape a living river. Allan Blomkvist has created rest areas, exhibited fishing huts and opened to those who need easily accessible fishing spots! The Swedish state has given its own and the EU's support via the county administrative board. The municipality of Härjedalen has supported and the power industry's rural funds have contributed. The anglers have sponsored with gravel.
I send a warm thank you to everyone and ask that it reaches everyone who with different efforts entered into the collaboration and are explanations of the result!
Långåljusnan is open for fishing all year round, but of course the closed seasons for trout must be respected. A locally characterized strain of Ljusnanöring - ie a Långåljusnan trout - is being developed and the power lines will be included in the 'project trout' that we are running in the next few years with a view to building up the trout strain.. Autumn grayling fishing is an experience!
When we sum up the summer 2021 we have a good platform for fishing interest that "never closes"!
