A fisherman warns that the mooring of the buoys that are laid out in Långåljusnan leads to risks of water runaround. He states that he has twice been listed incidents of fishermen who left from the time when the plant started up. It should have applied fishermen with floating rings.
Safety and the opinion should never click, says Helge Jonsson, Chair in long FVOF. It comes to us on the Board, responsible for operations, but is ultimately the duty of the fishing here. All fishing is done at your own risk and responsibility. This means that the fishing in the fishery conservation Långå bears full responsibility for its fishing with the risks and consequences that always means.
There is a general warning to the water flow in Långåljusnan can change quickly and without warning when the power plant will kick off. This applies to the distance from the tunnel outlet in Rändhån (No. 45 in fish map) and downstream, with special attention to the top. Leave the river immediately if you notice that the water flow increases. It applies to all and always along the entire stretch downstream tunnel outlet!
A few years ago there was a serious accident in which two men had anchored his canoe in Rändhån, downstream tunnel outlet. Suddenly ran the plant up and running, they did not get up the anchor and the canoe filled with water. Both men ended up in the water; one of them drowned. No one had life jackets.
– The buoys are laid out means more security than using their own anchor. The buoys are located on the old web sites, where the fish are to. Not having to trap anchors which means that it does not scare the fish. A third reason is that Långåljusnan can be used for drift fishing, drifting, that is, letting themselves be led by the current, and fish of the route, with residence at the bends, says Helge Jonsson.
– Safety in all aspects is a high priority area for long FVOF. The Board makes everything possible for security, but the ultimate responsibility lies with the fishing. Awareness and good judgment in all situations is the fisherman's responsibility. A responsibility that each fisherman must take very seriously, says Helge Jonsson.
